Sumário

Job description           The Assistant Professor must accomplish (while being committed with ethical practices):a. Promote and develop teaching-research activities.On the research front, this Assistant Professor is expected to develop research that will contribute to value creation for organizations and their stakeholders, ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of their operations, logistics, and supply chain systems. Proper exploration of these areas having as basis sustainability goals should be translated into research excellence that will support companies´ decision-making processes in industry and services, aligned with the highest industrial engineering management practice standards, contributing to the development of the scientific -disciplinary area.  He/she will foster a research agenda twinned with the Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Research Groups of CEGIST OpLog and SUSTAINS.Within the teaching sphere, the Assistant Professor is anticipated to contribute to the success of existent curricular units within training programs related to Industrial Engineering Management, with a specific focus on Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Management and Environment; and Societal Challenges. The emphasis is placed on introducing innovative concepts, methodologies, and applications in teaching. He/she is expected to contribute to the supervision of MSc and PhD theses, and explore innovative teaching approaches (e.g. interactive videos, MOOC modules).b. F oster industry Interaction . The Assistant Professor is expected to foster industry collaborations (e.g. organizing specialized short courses in Técnico+), while exploring real-world applications.c. Publishing and Dissemination .  He/she is supposed to publish and disseminate his/her activity in top peer reviewed journals in the areas of Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Scientific profile          The following profile is set for this Assistant Professor:a. Educational background : a PhD in engineering and management, or in a related area.b. Research experience : should have demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international level in the scientific domains of Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management with a focus on Sustainability. Full commitment to do interdisciplinary research and the ability to lead cooperative research projects and to attract third-party funding are expected.c. Teaching experience : some teaching and supervising experience related to Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.d. Additional requirements : evidence of industry collaboration, research project participation, science outreach, and contributions to the academic community in the areas of Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. RationaleThe strategic imperative behind hiring this Assistant Professor lies in the potential of his/her research to address real-world complexities in the areas of Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, through multimethodologies that explicitly deal with sustainability goals, diverse stakeholders, resilience objectives, various sources of uncertainty, and which are increasingly recognised as critical for improved decision-making in multiple industry sectors.This expertise is recognised as critical for international scientific projects, as recent trends in the EU research program include sustainability objectives. The Assistant professor´s expertise has a high potential to foster applied research with industry, and to attract research and consultancy funding at the national and international levels.This appointment builds upon the tradition of IST, DEG and CEGIST, promoting diversity and fortifying the existing Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management group which wants to fortify the sustainability component to support decision-making processes, and cultivating future leadership of the group at the international level.The recruitment of this assistant professor is crucial for making substantial contributions to the diverse areas outlined by DEG and CEGIST in their strategic plans. Additionally, it enables placing human resources in DEG in an area with deficit of tenure tracked professors for delivering its educational responsibilities.To attract top-tier researchers, the recruitment process will be conducted on a national and international scale, following a transparent and merit-based selection approach. A commitment to gender balance will be a central tenet of this process, ensuring an inclusive environment. The position will be open to researchers irrespective of gender, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, political views, language, age, or nationality. This inclusive approach aims to create a diverse and vibrant academic community at IST.

  • Beneficiários Finais são aqueles cujos financiamento e projetos a executar são aprovados após um processo de seleção, feito através de Avisos de Candidaturas.

Na realização dos Avisos de Candidaturas são solicitadas candidaturas para a escolha dos projetos e dos beneficiários finais a quem é atribuído o financiamento.

A avaliação do projeto é realizada com base na sua conformidade com os critérios de seleção definidos nos avisos de candidatura, podendo ser atribuída uma nota final, quando aplicável.
