Sumário

REQUIMTE is seeking an Principal Researcher in the field of Chemistry with emphasis in Inorganic-based materials to heterogeneous catalysis.REQUIMTE seeks a person who will be a potential research leader in the area of Inorganic-based Materials to Heterogeneous Catalysis to produces clean transportation fuels. The candidate needs to conciliate expertise in inorganic chemistry, materials science, and heterogeneous catalysis. A high expertise in the design of inorganic-based materials with multifunctional catalytic properties is required, to be used for the preparation of green transportation (bio)fuels and the valorization of wastes from biodiesel industry. The candidate should have the skills to establish strategic collaborations inside the REQUIMTE network, and with other national and international research centers. The development of this topic will require a research leader able to establish straight collaboration with (bio)refinery industry, with previous experience in this area.It is also crucial that the candidate has a high expertise in the supervision of undergraduate, graduate, Master and PhD students, as well as in the orientation of post-doctoral researchers. It will be solicitate to the candidate the creation of its own research group integrating different members.Experience in the coordination of projects is mandatory, mainly in catalytic materials for transportation fuels and waste valorization. The candidate needs to be stimulated to participate in different national and international calls of project to acquire financial support.The main tasks included for the development of an independent research line that the applicant need to follow and demonstrate previous experience are i) design of catalytic active oxometallic centers; ii) design of bulk materials with high capacity to integrate active centers, as well as the design of catalytic membranes; iii) development of heterogeneous sustainable catalytic processes able to remove the pollutants from (bio)fuels transportation, as well as an effective valorization of wastes from (bio)refinery industry. In all these tasks, the applicant will provide the training of Master and PhD students, concluding thesis in the main area of interest from REQUIMTE, i.e. Sustainable Chemistry.Key responsibilities include:The assistant researcher is expected to establish an independent and internationally recognized research profile in the area of Inorganic-based materials to heterogeneous catalysis.Follow developments within the subject area and the development of society in general that is important for the work at REQUIMTE.Contribute to the supervision of second- and third-cycle students.We expect the successful candidate to value and participate in the general academic work at University of Porto .Scientific Profile: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:Ph.D. in Chemistry with a strong focus on Inorganic Chemistry.High Research Expertise in Inorganic Materials to prepare clean fuels for transportation. It is necessary that the researcher presents solid professional skills, with high relevance that can cover all the tasks included in the employment.Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals (at least 120 publications and h-index superior to 30), demonstrating the ability to contribute novel insights to the field.Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Rationale: The recruitment of an Assistant Researcher in the field of Chemistry with expertise in Inorganic-based materials to Heterogeneous Catalysis to produce clean (bio)fuels aligns with our institution´s strategic goals in advancing research in Sustainable Chemical Processes. The emphasis in sustainable catalytic materials for clean (bio)fuels is justified to reinforce our team of researchers that focus on fundamental, and curiosity driven research while addressing important research topics in close collaboration with industry, health care and societal bodies. The expertise of the successful candidate will significantly contribute to ongoing research projects focusing on research in Sustainable Processes for Energy and Functional Materials Design and will strengthen our institutional capabilities in these critical areas. The appointed Principal Researcher will join the Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry research unit at Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto. The research topic is also in alignment with LAQV-REQUIMTE scientific strategy. This position reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of scientific discovery and making meaningful contributions to the field of Green Energy and Sustainable Chemical Processes.

  • Beneficiários Diretos são aqueles cujos financiamento e projetos a executar constam do Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência negociado e aprovado pela União Europeia;
