The NOVA Institute for Medical Systems Biology (NIMSB) will hire a skilled and motivated Researcher with a strong background in Clinical Research. The successful candidate will lead innovative systems biology and precision medicine research projects using clinical samples, with close interaction with the clinical departments.Key Responsibilities:1) Innovative Research: Conduct innovative and impactful clinical research, with an emphasis on the direct work with clinicians towards identification of biomarkers relevant to disease diagnosis, progression and monitoring treatment response, crucial for optimizing therapeutic strategies.2) Sample Logistics and Processing: Implement procedures and methodologies for patient sample collection, transportation, processing and storage.3) Clinical Research Service: Provide assistance on experimental design and regulatory procedures for projects that involve patient samples.4) Education and Training Programs: Developing education and training programs in clinical research and precision medicine, aiming to prepare the next generation of researchers and healthcare workers in medical systems biology concepts.5) Collaborative Research: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including interdisciplinary groups, to advance research projects. Participate in joint ventures that bridge the gap between basic science and translational medicine.6) Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse experimental data using statistical methods. Prepare and present research findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences. Contribute to the writing of research papers for publication in high impact peer-reviewed journals.7) Mentorship and Supervision: Mentor and supervise junior researchers and students. Provide guidance in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing.8) Funding: Contribute to the development of research proposals and funding applications.Scientific Profile:1) PhD in Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine or related relevant fields.2) Minimum of 6 years postdoctoral experience in clinical research.3) Demonstrated experience in clinical research design and regulatory procedures.4) Demonstrated experience with clinical sample logistics, processing and analysis in collaboration with clinicians.5) Publication record in clinical research.6) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.7) Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.8) Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Rationale for Hiring:Clinical research towards precision medicine is a key strategic objective of NIMSB.
