Position: Chemical Engineering Principal ResearcherJob Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chemical Engineering Researcher to join our dynamic team at NOVA FCT and LAQV. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the areas of Chemical Engineering, with a specific focus on the development of ionic liquid-based sustainable separation and extraction processes. Key tasks include the design and synthesis of novel ionic liquids, their thermophysical characterization and their application on the development of sustainable separation and extraction processes. The researcher will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of innovative solutions in the field.Responsibilities:Design and synthesis of novel ionic liquids and ionic liquid-based composites.Investigation of the properties of these materials either pure, in mixtures or as composite materials.Development of sustainable processes for the separation and extraction of added value compounds.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate findings into broader research initiatives.Contribute to the publication of research findings in reputable scientific journals.Stay abreast of the latest developments in Chemical Engineering, Ionic Liquids and related fields.Scientific Profile: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.Proven expertise in the development and optimization of separation or extraction processes, with a track record of successful projects.Extensive knowledge in Chemical Engineering with a special focus on Ionic Liquids.Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals, demonstrating the ability to contribute novel insights to the field.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.A minimum of 10 years of post-doctoral experience in the area, with more than 75 Wos indexed papers.Rationale: The recruitment for this position aligns with the strategic goals of NOVA FCT and LAQV to advance research excellence in Chemical Engineering.
