Job description: Recruitment of a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor with a strong background in Clinical Research Management and Implementation to join Nova Medical School (NMS) and its Clinical Research Unit (NOVA CRU). The successful candidate will assume a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing NMS capacity for teaching in the field of Clinical Research Management, contributing to the success of NMS Educational Programs, and leveraging excellence in clinical research, not only at NMS but at national level. The successful candidate is also expected to coordinate NOVA CRU and improve and oversee its services of clinical study management, from early study design and protocol development to the delivery of final results and publications. The successful candidate is also expected to participate and engage in clinical research projects, in which NMS is a partner or coordinator, providing aid in the design and implementation of clinical studies. This position is designed for a candidate with a robust background in Clinical Research and Health Sciences and extensive expertise in Clinical Research Management throughout the entire lifecycle of clinical research studies. Key Responsibilities: •    Teaching in the area of Clinical Research Management, including, Good Clinical Practices in clinical research, Core Methodologies, Monitoring, Study Coordination, and Clinical Validation of health innovations. •    Coordination or participation in under-graduate, graduate and post-graduate programs in Clinical Research Management. •    Coordinate and lead the NOVA Clinical Research Unit (academic CRO): definition and implementation of a strategic plan, execution of clinical research projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and contributing to the overall advancement of scientific knowledge. •    Supervise students and other team members, providing them with guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development. •    Actively participate in institutional activities and councils, providing insights to enhance and innovate educational programs and offering valuable contributions to clinical research strategies. •    Closely collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment that encourages cross-functional cooperation. •    Develop and maintain partnerships with other academic institutions, industry stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and healthcare organizations to facilitate collaborative and high impact research. Qualifications: •    Doctoral Degree in Biomedicine or related fields, with track-record research experience in clinical research; •    Master’s and bachelor´s Degree in Health Sciences; •    Experience in under-graduate and graduate teaching in the area of health sciences, preferably with experience in coordinating curricular units or entire programs; •    Experience in teaching in the field of Clinical Research Management, at least 2 years; •    Experience as a supervisor in the field of health science, particularly in the area of clinical research management, with at least 5 students; •    Demonstrate leadership in development and research publications by serving as the first author in at least 1 clinical research original study and co-authoring more than 5 articles related to clinical research studies; •    Experience as a Clinical Research Project Manager; •    Strong knowledge about Regulatory Affairs applied to the clinical research studies; •    Good negotiation and communication skills with the different stakeholders: researcher, clinicians, regulatory agencies, governmental agencies, industry, among others. The Assistant Professor will play a pivotal role in enhancing educational programs, fostering a new generation of skilled clinical researchers equipped to address emerging healthcare challenges. By coordinating the NOVA CRU, this Assistant Professor will increase NMS capacity of coordinating, participating and implementing clinical studies, therefore contributing to foster research excellence and healthcare innovation. The Assistant Professor in Clinical Research Management will strengthen NMS position as a leading institution in the field of translational and clinical research.
