Sumário

The prospective employee will be contracted to work at 2Ai Laboratory, in the scientific area of Electronic Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Engineering. The employee will be involved in the implementation of 2Ai’s scientific vision by developing innovative navigation systems empowered by AI and collaborative robots to improve the efficiency of existing goods and services in two main areas, health and industry. Specifically, focused on assist during challenging image-guided and minimally invasive interventions where ongoing work is being conducted and collaborations are established, contributing to the enrichment and fortification of the center´s current research and development. The scientific profile aims to enhance 2Ai´s excellence in industrial field to optimize current tasks with the integration of collaborative robotics. In this scope, this employer´s tasks will focus on the collaborative robotic field: Development of robotic-based navigation systems - The candidate must develop intelligent perception strategies, employing optimal sensors to enhance a robotic system´s understanding of the task environment. This involves interpreting sensor data to automate intelligent decision-making, promoting collaboration between humans and AI. The objective is to create intuitive HRC methods that optimize the utility of collaborative robots, integrating sensor data with HRC strategies for real-time robotic control. These innovations aim to assist operators in both medical and industrial tasks. Additionally, the candidate should project prototype systems, serving as proof-of-concepts for envisioned technology, and define validation strategies to demonstrate the added value of the developed prototypes. Transfer of knowledge and technology: The prospective employee should support the protection of innovative technologies by assisting in the safeguarding of intellectual property (IP). Moreover, drive innovation through the creation of licensing agreements, sales, or the establishment of spin-off companies. Analyze the market, identify project stakeholders, and emphasize competitive advantages, collaborating with the new Valorization Innovation Center. Organizational and dissemination: The employee should disseminate R&D work through publication in peer-reviewed journals and international conference presentations. Also, organize conferences and symposiums in the employee´s field, and participate in national and international trade fairs. It will have an active role in secure research funds and attract investors through applications for national and international R&D projects. Cultivate cooperative relationships with stakeholders in the medical and industrial sectors, managing projects with approved funding. Finally, recruit and supervise bachelor, master, and PhD students in collaborative robotics, and coordinate advanced courses in collaborative robotics for national and international students under RUN-UE+.The employee must have robust scientific writing skills and expertise in artificial intelligence and collaborative robotics. Essential qualifications include proficiency in the latest advancements, particularly in the development of robotic technologies, with a focus on industrial or health sector projects. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of project timelines and work packages. Understanding human physiology and behavior is particularly vital for developing human-robot collaboration technologies, especially in accurately defining task requirements, particularly within the medical domain.The employee should have expertise in environment perception strategies, signal acquisition, and image processing for interpreting the robot´s environment. Proficient programming skills are crucial for robotic control, interfacing with peripherals, and integrating collaborative robots with real-time sensor information. The candidate should demonstrate a successful track record in developing intuitive human-robot collaboration methods for enhanced efficiency and precision. Familiarity with 3D tracking systems, commonly used for robotic system validation, and knowledge of robotic simulators for methodology validation and testing are necessary.The employee should have expertise in R&D projects, actively participating in projects funded by national or international entities. Strong leadership skills, student supervision, effective communication, and successful presentations at international conferences are essential. Proficiency in lecturing robotics courses is also required for seamless integration into RUN-UE+ advanced courses.In terms of knowledge and technology transfer, the potential employee must possess expertise in IP protection and expertise in exhibit developed technologies at national or international trade fairs. This aims to establish connections with potential collaborators and funding agencies, attract talent, and enhance 2Ai´s reputation within the scientific and R&D community

  • Beneficiários Diretos são aqueles cujos financiamento e projetos a executar constam do Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência negociado e aprovado pela União Europeia;
