These acquisitions are vital to IJP’s strategic goals in research, training, internationalization, and public engagement, reinforcing interdisciplinary curricula, collaboration among IJP’s branches, global networks, and the knowledge transfer to society through innovation, inclusiveness, and open science. Virtual Lab : It will provide an advanced digital environment for immersive collaboration and interdisciplinary research across UPT, IPLEIRIA, supporting work on all cross-cutting themes for 2025–2029, with a particular emphasis on studying the impact of AI in law. “AI Impact in Law” Research Infrastructure : Indispensable for studying how artificial intelligence transforms law and governance. These resources allow empirical analysis, comparative law studies, and large-scale case law monitoring, directly supporting IJP’s publication goals and alignment with the EU AI Act. Revista Jurídica Portucalense : As the only Q1 open-access legal journal in Portugal both indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, the requested investment will allow it to maintain its international standards and visibility, but also research integrity, international impact, and compliance with IJP’s commitment to open science. Resources for Cross-Cutting thematic areas : These will provide the essential infrastructure for all thematic areas. They will ensure efficient data collection and analysis, enhance the quality of teaching and Summer Schools, and enable international collaboration, while safeguarding reliability through cooling and UPS systems. UPT Mock Courtroom Update : By reflecting the digital transformation of justice, it allows researchers to simulate not only the physical environment of a courtroom but also the technological dynamics of contemporary judicial practice. Directly supports Justice, Procedure, and Development by enabling simulations of civil and criminal procedures, ADR mechanisms, accessibility and inclusiveness, while also reinforcing training, mentorship, and policy innovation.
