Project main objectives can be summarized as: 1. Maximizing the effect of reduced damping: The primary goal is to build upon the previous discovery of a significant reduction in damping in ferromagnetic thin films through local doping. Experimentation will involve exploring different dopant materials and concentrations to identify the optimal combination that maximizes the reduction in damping while maintaining sample homogeneity. 2. Extension to other ferromagnetic materials: Investigating whether the synthetic route discovered for cobalt thin films can be applied to other ferromagnetic materials, including monoelemental metals like iron and popular alloys like FeNi, FeCo, and FeCoB. If successful, this result would represent a major breakthrough, as it would allow for the minimization of damping in a wide range of ferromagnetic metals through simple surface modification. 3. Fabrication of advanced components of spin-wave logic : Utilizing the synthesized ferromagnetic material with optimized characteristics to fabricate SW phase invertors, an essential component of spin-wave logic. Comparing the performance of invertors employing the novel synthetic ferromagnet with those using reference ferromagnetic materials to demonstrate the effectiveness of the novel material in terms of energy efficiency. The proposed research addresses crucial challenges in the field of magnonics, particularly focusing on reducing damping in ferromagnetic materials. Damping reduction is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of spin-wave-based computing technologies. By targeting the improvement of damping characteristics in ferromagnetic thin films through local doping, the project aims to overcome limitations associated with existing materials like yttrium iron garnet (YIG) and highly ordered magnetic films. The exploration of novel synthetic routes to decrease damping in various ferromagnetic materials, including elemental metals and popular alloys, is a significant step toward realizing efficient and practical spin-wave-based devices. The objectives of the project demonstrate a high level of ambition and innovation. By leveraging theoretical predictions and experimental techniques, the research aims to push the boundaries of current knowledge and capabilities in magnonics. The development of a synthetic ferromagnet with optimized characteristics, including high magnetization and low damping, represents a novel approach to address the challenges in spin-wave computing. The proposed fabrication of magnonic waveguides using multilayer structures and the investigation of spin-mixing conductance for controlled damping modification are innovative concepts that extend beyond conventional approaches in magnonics. Additionally, the project's collaboration with international partners and the use of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques highlight its interdisciplinary nature and its commitment to advancing the field of nanomagnetism.
