A terapia com Células CAR-T é uma imunoterapia celular inovadora que tem apresentado um sucesso notável no tratamento de doenças malignas hematológicas, nomeadamente no tratamento de Leucemia Linfoblástica Aguda de Células B (LLA-B), Linfoma Difuso de Grandes Células B (LDGCB) e mais recentemente, no Mieloma Múltiplo. Pelo importante papel que este tipo de terapia assume no tratamento da doença oncológica e pelo seu potencial de crescimento, o IPO Porto pretende criar um Centro de Produção de Células CAR-T com capacidade para dar resposta à procura nacional deste tipo de terapia. O investimento candidatado diz respeito à construção do Centro de Produção de Células CAR-T no IPO Porto, tendo como objetivos: - Criar uma unidade autónoma e tecnicamente avançada de produção de células CAR-T, consolidando o IPO Porto como centro nacional de excelência na produção e aplicação destas terapias celulares;- Garantir o acesso equitativo e em tempo útil a estas terapias inovadoras;- Reduzir os custos associados à aquisição externa destas terapias, otimizando os recursos do Serviço Nacional de Saúde (SNS) e contribuindo para a sua sustentabilidade financeira, social e ambiental;- Promover o desenvolvimento científico e a investigação translacional em terapias celulares, nomeadamente células CAR-T.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
