We are seeking an Assistant Professor specializing in plant physiology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the evaluation of photosynthesis and secondary metabolism, and/or pollination services, with a focus on addressing complex challenges stemming from global climate change.Responsibilities:Engage in collaborative interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding and mitigating the impacts of climate change on plant physiology and pollination systems.Focus on the effect of climate change on crop performance and productivity, and on the search for strategies to promote sustainable agricultural practices.Develop research on physiological and biochemical mechanisms that enable plants to cope with abiotic stresses (e.g., drought and heat), and assess the potential of plants and agro-food by-products to reduce the use of synthetic agrochemicals and mitigate the negative impact of abiotic stresses in agriculture.Conduct research with a high potential for national and international impact, contributing to the advancement of plant sciences and botanical research.Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in plant physiology, botany, and related subjects, delivering stimulating and informative lectures and practical sessions.Supervise postgraduate research students, guiding them in their academic and research endeavours.Fulfil management and administrative duties essential to the effective functioning of the academic department. Profile :PhD in Biology, Ecology, or a related field, with a specialization in plant physiology or botanical sciences.Demonstrated proficiency in assessing the effects of environmental factors, such as climate change and contaminants, on plant physiological, biochemical, and metabolic processes.Experience in implementing sustainable strategies to enhance plant physiological performance and resilience in response to environmental stressors.Strong publication record showcasing research contributions to the field of plant physiology or related disciplines.Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams and contribute to innovative research initiatives.Dedication to excellence in teaching and mentoring, with the ability to inspire and guide students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Join us in advancing our understanding of plant physiology and its implications for global sustainability.
