Summary

Aligning with the university´s "comprehensive internationalization strategy to increase global impact and visibility," this research Unit develops numerous collaborative archaeology and heritage programs with partners spanning the Mediterranean region, Middle East, and Latin America.A prime example of this internationalization program is seen in the Kani Shaie Archaeological Project, a project lead by CEAACP, which includes the exclusivity of concessions for archaeological work licenses at archaeological sites related to the origins of complex societies in the Middle East. The sustainability of such program requires:– Stable and highly motivated interdisciplinary research teams using and implementing innovative technological and laboratory tools;– Maintaining existing international partnerships while constantly building new strategic networks;– Promotion of scientific diplomacy through the maintenance of partnerships while constantly building new strategic networks in these areas;– Securing external funding and integrating research with advanced graduate training;– Community outreach and showcasing heritage as a means of inclusive, ethical progress;– Organizational and project management work within research and the Institution´s current Board.The researcher must demonstrate skills and attributes to develop work in the internationalization research program in the area of Humanities, particularly Archaeology and Heritage, with a background in archaeology and history of Ancient Mesopotamia.The candidate must demonstrate skills and attributes to develop work in the internationalization research program in the area of Humanities, particularly Archaeology and Heritage, with a background in archaeology and history of Ancient Mesopotamia.The candidate must fully commit to participation in the Unit´s international research teams, including undertaking extended periods of fieldwork during excavation seasons. It needs to demonstrate aptitude to manage groups of diverse nationalities and expertises united under common project goals through collaborative strategies sensitive to intercultural dynamics, particularly of the Middle East.The candidate must showcase relevant skills and enthusiasm to directly contribute to the Unit´s commitment of co-creating state-of-the-art digital means to document and disseminate both movable and immovable heritage and scientific production. This includes developing open access publication platforms to share primary excavation data with both academic and public users.Incorporating laboratory methods and emerging technologies into heritage management and promotion represents the developing methodological, scientific and technical progress within this study domain. Through that he should also contribute to a more equitable public access to these scientific and cultural resources.

Beneficiaries

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, two types of beneficiaries are responsible for carrying out the projects and using the funding provided. Due to their similar role, the reference to these two types of beneficiaries has been simplified and unified under the term "Beneficiary".
The two types are::
  • Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
  • Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.

Call for applications

As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.

The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.

Final evaluation score

8,7
Important note

The components for calculating the assessment score can be found in the selection criteria document mentioned below.
