The position involves carrying out research at the Centre for Research and Development in Mathematics and Applications (CIDMA), within the scope of its Functional Analysis and Applications Group (GAFA), with the possibility of teaching up to a maximum of 4 hours per week, at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Aveiro.The research to be carried out should be performed within the scope of the activities of GAFA in the mathematical subareas of integral equations, operator theory, and their consequent applications to initial value and boundary value problems.More specifically, the candidate is expected to carry out research on convolution type equations (e.g. of Wiener-Hopf and Hankel type) and their applications, and to be able to introduce new convolutions and classes of integral equations and apply them to various applied fields (e.g. in engineering). It is also expected to be able to introduce new uncertainty principles for various integral transforms and to obtain new stability results (e.g. of the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias type) for different classes of integral equations, as well as to analyze new Fredholm theories for new classes of integral operators. Applications of these mathematical fields to boundary and initial value problems that depend on these new results are also expected. The development of new theoretical tools / results and their applications are both fundamental for the core research in Analysis carried out in GAFA.It is also expected that the prospective employee will take part in: - training and supervision activities, including mentoring graduate and undergraduate students as well as post-doctoral researchers; - fostering international contacts and collaborations; - supervision and coordination of scientific projects; - development of outreach activities.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
Final evaluation score
The components for calculating the assessment score can be found in the selection criteria document mentioned below.

Procurement
Beneficiaries representing public entities implement their project by signing one or more contracts with suppliers for goods or services through public procurement procedures.
To ensure and provide the utmost transparency in all these contracts, a list of the contracts that were signed under this project is available here, along with the information available on the Base.Gov platform. Please note that, according to the legislation in force at the time the contract was signed, some exceptions do not require the publication of the contracts signed on this platform, and, therefore, no information is available in such cases.
