The job position consists in carrying out scientific research activities in the scientific domain of Agricultural Sciences, scientific area of Animal and Dairy Science and sub-area of Husbandry, with the aim of improving the efficiency and productive sustainability of animal production systems with the implementation of precision technology. The candidate should reveal relevant scientific publications and experience in implementing scientific projects in the area of animal production and veterinary sciences. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.The candidate may, if considered appropriate, will be able to teach, autonomously or in partnership, up to a maximum of 4 hours per week, in the curricular units within the area of research.The candidate should present a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a suitable profile according to the job description. He must have experience in productive sustainability of animal production systems and precision technology; experience as a post-doctoral researcher; minimum of 10 international publications in WoS indexed journals; experience in preparing and managing scientific projects and project leadership; established collaborations with international teams in the area of Animal Production; capacity to attract competitive financing, as individual fellowships (CEEC-individual) or as PI of R&D project funding; high spoken and written communication skills in Portuguese and English. With this position, the IPSantarem Agrarian School aims at strenghten the main areas of the Animal Husbandry programme. Given the existence of several livestock nuclei to support research and teaching, including the presence of endangered autochthonous breeds, it is hoped that this position will become part of the CERnas research team, contributing to innovative and outstanding lines of research. Interaction with the local farmers community linked to the animal production sector is a key component for IPSantarem and ESAS mission. IPSantarem has a close connection with local community and regional companies, intensifying this relationship for a training offer adapted to regional needs, as well as promoting opportunities for Research and Technological Development. In this way, IPSantarem is aware of the main issues animal producers face in the current climate change scenario. Mitigating the impact of climate change, under an One Health and Food Safety approach is one of the main challenges in modern agriculture to which IPSantarem intends to contribute regionally and worldwide. IPSantarem recognizes the need to develop solutions based on the latest science advances to help farmers to tackle climate risks and recognizes the potential of biotechnology and life sciences to respond to societal and animal production demands and enhance the competitiveness of the animal production sector while ensuring sustainability. It’s also expected from the candidate the mentoring and supervision of students. This position could potentially contribute to the establishment of the new PhD program ‘Agri-food and Environmental Sustainability’ (submitted) in which IPSantarem participates. With this position it is also expected that IPSantarem increases the ability to attract competitive funding at national and international levels in the coming years.

- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
