Summary

Job DescriptionThe candidates will have the specific tasks:-     To carry out, regularly, research and development activities, as well as other scientific and technical activities within the scope of SPRINT mission.-     To participate in the design, submission, development, and execution of R&D projects and related scientific and technical activities.-     To organize and guide the work carried out within the scope of the projects under its responsibility.-     To cooperate with other researchers of SPRINT and other R&D Units in multidisciplinary research projects.-     To cooperate with other researchers of SPRINT and other R&D Units in innovation, technology, and development projects.-     To communicate and disseminate knowledge to society at national and international levels.-     To collaborate in developing advanced and scientific training activities within the SPRINT and ESDRM mission scope.-     To monitor the research work carried out by PhD students, scholarship holders, and research assistants.-     To participate in the teaching activities of the departments of ESDRM or other Schools of the Santarém Polytechnic University within the field of expertise.Scientific profile requiredThe current application is dedicated to one researcher holding a PhD in Sport Sciences with specialization in Physical activity and health. We expect applications from Ph.D. holders who demonstrate experience in post-doctoral scholarships/grants, previous integration in research teams of funded research projects, supervision of master and/or doctoral students, and expertise in the applied contexts of Sport Sciences, namely Physical activity and health. Evaluation criteria to apply to these positions include one or more publications per year in journals indexed on Web of Science (SCIE and SSCI) over the past 5 years. It is also valuable if the candidate has authored at least one article per year as the primary author in the last five years (on average), demonstrating their ability to lead as an author and researcher. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to participate in research projects and independently manage tasks associated with sport sciences research projects. Additionally, it will be valued the experience on teaching activities, knowledge transfer and the applied scientific experience in the field of sport sciences. The full CIÊNCIA VITAE curriculum should be submitted together with a Narrative CV.RationaleThis job vacancy is closely associated with the SPRINT research center, which houses two research groups focused on (1) Human Behavior and Sports Performance, and (2) Physical activity, health, and sustainable communities. The selected candidates will be assigned to these groups within SPRINT. Furthermore, these researchers will also participate in the specific Master´s degree programs at ESDRM: (1) MSc in Sports Training and MSc in Sports Management, and (2) MSc in Physical Activity and Health and MSc in Sports Recreation and Active Tourism, respectively, as well as with future Ph.D. students, thereby aligning with ESDRM-IPSANTARÉM´s strategy to foster research in key areas across its schools and research centers.

Beneficiaries

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, two types of beneficiaries are responsible for carrying out the projects and using the funding provided. Due to their similar role, the reference to these two types of beneficiaries has been simplified and unified under the term "Beneficiary".
The two types are::
  • Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
  • Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.

Call for applications

As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.

The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
