The Assistant Researcher in Bioeconomy within the Bioproducts and Bioactive Research Group at CBQF will assume a crucial role in spearheading research activities dedicated to the valorisation of waste using a biorefinery concept, ensuring the maximization of value through cascade valorisation utilizing various technologies and generating diverse valuable ingredients suitable for various applications. This position entails developing innovative fractioning and extraction methodologies to harness value-added molecules and assure zero-waste principles. The researcher will be tasked with implementing cutting-edge clean technologies for the extraction and purification of these molecules, with a keen focus on translating research outcomes into practical applications for industrial implementation.The appointment of an Assistant Researcher in Bioeconomy is instrumental in fortifying the research group´s capabilities and ensuring the consolidation of the group with a stable and permanent core of excellent researchers’ team that was not permitted to achieved until now.This strategic inclusion not only enhances the group´s proficiency in bioeconomy but also tackles the current hurdles associated with unstable work conditions, especially during project-driven assignments. Through the utilization of the candidate´s unique expertise and capabilities, the research team can persist in pioneering advancements in bioeconomy, fostering partnerships with both industrial entities and academic organizations. Additionally, the candidate´s leadership in overseeing doctoral and master´s programs will amplify the group´s ability to guide and nurture emerging researchers, further cementing its standing as a beacon of excellence in research and innovation within the scientific realm.Scientific Profile:The candidate for the position of Assistant Researcher in Bioeconomy should possess at least 5 years of expertise in the field after the Ph.D. They must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of bioeconomy principles and practices, particularly as they relate to the establishment of eco-design for generating new value molecules from various waste streams while ensuring zero waste.The candidate should possess experience in the field of biorefinery, ensuring the maximization of value through cascade valorisation utilizing various technologies. This involves generating diverse levels of valuable ingredients suitable for various applications.A strong publication record in reputable, high-impact journals is essential, showcasing the candidate´s ability to contribute significantly to advancing knowledge in bioeconomy. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should have experience in translating research findings into practical applications for industry, fostering collaborations with industrial partners to facilitate technology transfer and market implementation.Networking skills, both within the industry and academic community, are highly desirable, enabling the candidate to cultivate collaborative partnerships to amplify research impact and visibility.Experience in supervising doctoral and master´s programs is advantageous, demonstrating the candidate´s capacity for mentorship and leadership in guiding the next generation of researchers in circular bioeconomy.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
Final evaluation score
The components for calculating the assessment score can be found in the selection criteria document mentioned below.
