The successful applicant is expected to make a significant contribution to the research agenda of the Research Center for Communication and Culture (CECC) in the field of journalism studies. Specifically, during the period of employment it is expected that the applicant will: i) develop national and international research networks in the field of journalism studies; ii) submit applications for research grants that may expand the outcomes of the research center; iii) engage in the organization of conferences and other scientific events organized at CECC; iv) publish the outcomes of her/his research in relevant journals in the field; v) make a contribution to the training of postdoc researchers.The successful candidate shall have a PhD in Communications, Media Studies or Journalism Studies and a solid track-record of publications at international level.This position will allow CECC and the Faculty of Human Sciences to increase its scientific outputs in one of its core fields. While the processes of mediation and the profound transformation undergone by journalism in the last decades are central to CECC’s research agenda, the Faculty of Human Sciences offers graduate programmes in journalism studies. Thus, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to share his/her research with graduate students in seminars and master classes and to develop research projects in which PhD students can also take part.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
