Summary

Job Description The candidates will have the specific tasks: Engage in regular research and development activities, contributing to the creation of new knowledge and the advancement of existing scientific domains within the scope of CIEQV´s mission. Submission, development, and execution of R&D projects, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and deliver impactful results. Work collaboratively with fellow researchers within CIEQV and across other R&D units, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to research projects and innovation initiatives. Actively communicate and share research findings with the broader scientific community and society, through publications, presentations, and other dissemination channels, both nationally and internationally. Contribute to the development of advanced and scientific training activities, aligning with the missions of CIEQV and IPBeja, and participate in teaching activities within the relevant fields of expertise at Health School of IPBeja or other IPBeja Schools. Provide guidance and oversight to PhD students, scholarship recipients, and research assistants, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the quality of research activities. Scientific profile required A PhD in a field relevant to the CIEQV mission, demonstrating a strong background in research and development. A proven track record of leading and managing R&D projects, with the ability to secure funding, manage resources, and deliver tangible outcomes. Expertise in multidisciplinary research, with a history of collaborative projects that span across different scientific domains. Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to disseminate knowledge effectively to a variety of audiences, both within the academic community and the public. A commitment to education and mentorship, with experience in guiding junior researchers and contributing to academic programs. An innovative and strategic thinker, capable of contributing to the development of the institution´s research agenda and aligning activities with broader institutional goals. The current application is dedicated to three (3) researchers holding a PhD in Health Sciences. We expect applications from Ph.D. holders who demonstrate previous integration in research teams of funded research projects, supervision of master and/or doctoral students, and expertise in the applied context of Health Sciences, namely: Public Health, Nursing and Health Technologies. Evaluation criteria to apply to these positions include one or more publications per year in journals indexed on Web of Science (SCIE and SSCI) over the past 3 years. It is also valuable if the candidate has authored at least one article per year as the primary author in the last five years (on average), demonstrating their ability to lead as an author and researcher. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to participate in research projects and independently manage tasks associated with health sciences research projects. Additionally, it will be valued the experience on teaching activities, knowledge transfer and the applied scientific experience in the field of health sciences. This job vacancy is closely associated with the CIEQV research center, which houses three research groups focused on (1) General Education, (2) Sports Sciences, and (3) Public Health, Nursing and Health Technologies. The selected candidates will be assigned to the “Public Health, Nursing and Health Technologies” group within CIEQV. Furthermore, these researchers will also participate in the specific Master degree programs at Health School and at Education School of IPBeja: MSc in Nursing and MSc Social and Community Gerontology, as well as with future Ph.D. students, thereby aligning with IPBeja strategy to foster research in key areas across its schools and research centers.

Beneficiaries

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, two types of beneficiaries are responsible for carrying out the projects and using the funding provided. Due to their similar role, the reference to these two types of beneficiaries has been simplified and unified under the term "Beneficiary".
The two types are::
  • Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
  • Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.

Call for applications

As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.

The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
