Job description: The position is open to a specialist in cyber-physical systems and edge computing, requiring a candidate with a Ph.D. in Informatics or Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will assume a leadership role, organizing and coordinating scientific and teaching activities related to cyber-physical systems and edge computing, with an emphasis on Trusted Computing (secure, dependable, etc.), autonomic computing, computing offloading/onloading, and energy efficiency techniques. The candidate is expected to contribute to research and development activity that leads to advances in the state-of-the-art in the integration of model-based software in engineering, middleware, frameworks, tools, and computing techniques.Previous documented experience, reflected in reputable peer-reviewed international publication venues, is a prerequisite, and a background in teaching within the field will be highly valued. Scientific Profile: Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Informatics Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in cyber-physical systems and edge computing. An important criterion is a proven publication record in leading journals and conferences in these fields. Being able to bridge the gap between traditional software development and the changing needs of the new systems developed for the edge-cloud continuum is crucial. The candidate´s expertise is expected to contribute to the development of knowledge as well as to the development of new courses and/or extension of existing courses. A teaching background in engineering courses that are consistent with the desired skills is valued. Rationale: The expert role in Cyber-Physical Systems, Edge Computing with an emphasis on Trusted Computing is strategically significant because it helps to handle the changing issues brought about by the edge-cloud continuum. The ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. in either Informatics Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering and be able to lead, plan, and coordinate research projects targeting cyber-physical systems and edge computing with an emphasis on trusted computing. This position plays a critical role in advancing practical applications and tackling obstacles associated with creating intelligent and adaptable systems. The institution´s all-encompassing commitment to academic excellence, ground-breaking research, and tackling global challenges is reflected in the candidate´s emphasis on impactful publications, teaching experience, and alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
Final evaluation score
The components for calculating the assessment score can be found in the selection criteria document mentioned below.
