Highly motivated and experienced Assistant Researcher with a strong background in molecular microbiology, chemical biology or molecular epidemiology. This role involves leading innovative research projects aimed at contributing to one or more the following areas: anti-Infective strategies against microbial pathogens, molecular mechanisms of biological processes and microbial factories for health and sustainability. Key Responsibilities: 1) Design and conduct cutting-edge research in the specified area(s); 2) Provide comprehensive support for the execution of projects within the host laboratory including securing funding, project planning, execution, and dissemination of results; 3) Mentor and supervise PhD and Master students, and postdoctoral researchers fostering a productive and inclusive lab environment; 4) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within and outside the institution; 5) Contribute to the scientific community through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, conference organization and participation in scientific committees; 6) Teach at a postgraduate level (master and PhD); 7) Actively participate in citizen science and science outreach activities. Scientific Profile Required: 1) PhD in Biology, Chemical Biology, or a related field; 2) Post-doctoral experience; 3) Proven experience and expertise in the areas of the call, through first/corresponding author publications in peer-reviewed international journal; 4) Experience in collaborations involving national and international interdisciplinary research groups; 5) Excellent communication skills; 6) Ability to integrate into multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating a critical mindset and effective communication skills; 7) Teaching experience; 8) Fluency in English and Portuguese (spoken and written); 9) Immediate availability. Rationale for Hiring: The hiring of an Assistant Researcher with a specialized focus on anti-Infective strategies against microbial pathogens, molecular mechanisms of biological processes and microbial factories for health and sustainability is considered key for the scientific strategy of MOSTMICRO and ITQB NOVA. Call for applications
