We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join the Statistics and Risk Management Research Group, at NOVA Math. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of cutting-edge research, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of innovative solutions in the field of Statistics. Collaborations with other research groups inside or outside NOVA Math are expected.Responsibilities:1. Conduct cutting-edge research on Statistics.2. Contribute to the publication of research findings in reputable scientific journals.3. Stay abreast of the latest developments in Statistics and related fields.4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and industrial partners to integrate findings into broader research initiatives.5. Engage in the NOVA Math research activities, including students’ supervision.6. Actively look for new sources of funding.Scientific Profile: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:1. Ph.D. in Statistics/Probability Theory, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with a strong focus on Multivariate Statistics or Spatial Statistics.2. A strong record of research at a high international level.3. A strong publication record in reputable scientific journals, demonstrating the ability to contribute novel insights to the field.4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.5. Proficiency in programming languages.6. Beneficiaries

- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
