Summary

Position: Circular Economy ResearcherJob Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Circular Economy Researcher to join our dynamic team at NOVA FCT/ LA CHANGE /CENSE. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research aligned with the CHANGE strategy, especially its thematic line 4, and CENSE, in the area of Circular Economy, with a specific focus on at least one of the following topics: a) recovery of resources and raw materials; b) business models and circularity strategies; c) circular production, logistics, transport and consumption systems; d) circularity assessment. The researcher will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of innovative solutions in the field.Scientific Profile: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering or a related field.More than 10 years of research or professional experience, after the conclusion of the PhD, in the areas of resource recovery and critical raw materials, business models and circularity strategies, circular production systems, logistics, transport and consumption, or circularity assessment.Proven experience in coordinating or participating in research projects.Proven ability to attract financing in R&D or extension projects.Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals, demonstrating the ability to contribute novel insights to the field.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Rationale: The recruitment for this position aligns with the strategic goals of NOVA FCT/CHANGE/CENSE to advance research excellence in promoting a circular and carbon-neutral economy. Beneficiaries

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, two types of beneficiaries are responsible for carrying out the projects and using the funding provided. Due to their similar role, the reference to these two types of beneficiaries has been simplified and unified under the term "Beneficiary".
The two types are::
  • Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
  • Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.

Call for applications

As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.

The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.
