Summary

With more than 2 years passed since the submission of the proposal of CITTA´s strategic plan for 2025-2029 this a perfect timing to take into account new challenges for CITTA , as well, as the fast-changing technological environment. This financing scheme offers an important opportunity to tackle both challenges in a timely manner. As a research centre with 3 labs, we have made a through survey of the next pressing investments needed to keep up to date and internalize procedural innovations through our different sub-fields.In line with the strategic outline defined for 2025-2029, we propose a list of new equipment and services which will support our role in contributing to urban transition towards sustainability. Although CITTA´s Geotechnical Engineering and Pavement Mechanics Laboratory has various equipment for testing, additional tools are needed to explore the complex behaviour of emerging and recycled materials, to maintain international competitiveness and scientific excellence. The Laboratory of Spatial Planning and Transport seeks to further develop its driving simulators, that have supported research on road safety, human factors, and autonomous driving, in line with CITTA´s strategy for innovation, sustainability, and safer mobility systems. However, to maintain international competitiveness and scientific excellence, it is crucial to upgrade these simulators with dynamic motion platforms and eye-tracking systems. The recently created urban analytics labs will continue the investment in the necessary computational conditions while also expanding into urban simulation and new immersive data collection.The new equipment will expand CITTA’s capacity to address societal challenges related to transport safety, accessibility, and inclusiveness, while strengthening doctoral training and international collaborations. This investment is therefore essential to consolidate CITTA as a European leader in research on sustainable and human-centered transport systems.

Beneficiaries

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, two types of beneficiaries are responsible for carrying out the projects and using the funding provided. Due to their similar role, the reference to these two types of beneficiaries has been simplified and unified under the term "Beneficiary".
The two types are::
  • Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
  • Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.

Call for applications

As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.

The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.

Final evaluation score

0,0
Important note

The components for calculating the assessment score can be found in the selection criteria document mentioned below.
