CLICTOUR responds to the call for research innovation on RIS3 domains and Horizon Europe missions. The project aims to provide support in reframing the existing tourism concept in the selected protected areas based on the identified challenges through the presentation of concrete policy proposals and actions. The project is valued in about 550.000,00 €, involving a team of 21 researchers of the University of Minho, for two years, working on two highly qualified research centres: the Centre for Research in Economics and Management’s (NIPE), mostly working on research line 1 (RL1) “Socioeconomic Wheels”; and Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS), responsible for a second research line (RL2) “Geospatial integration in tourism”. The project will be developed in three protected areas of the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) - National Park of Peneda-Gerês, and the Natural Parks of Alvão, and of Litoral Norte, - from whom it has already received an indication of interest and support (letter included in annexe). Finally, CLICTOUR includes the development of a robust and effective communication plan (including, e.g. workshops, paper presentations, social media presence, and final forum), to promote the significant scalability of results.
