O projeto START@IPCA representa um marco essencial na consolidação do espírito empreendedor no seio da comunidade académica do Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave (IPCA). Destina-se a criar um ambiente propício à materialização do conhecimento em ideias de negócio, oferecendo apoio presencial e virtual às startups em fases iniciais ou de consolidação. O objetivo é minimizar as dificuldades enfrentadas pelos jovens empreendedores, promovendo um ecossistema favorável ao empreendedorismo qualificado, através de oportunidades de capacitação personalizada e cedência de espaço para incubação física nas instalações do IPCA. Composto por quatro iniciativas de apoio à ignição e/ou aceleração, uma ação de capacitação dos RH e outra ação de reforço dos RH, o START@IPCA deverá apoiar estudantes, diplomados, docentes e investigadores que representam um universo de mais de 10 mil pessoas, cedendo suporte às ideias inovadoras alinhadas com as áreas de atuação do IPCA e as necessidades da indústria.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.

Beneficiaries representing public entities implement their project by signing one or more contracts with suppliers for goods or services through public procurement procedures.
