Um dos maiores desafios das cidades é a gestão dos resíduos orgânicos que em muito contribuem para a poluição, seja pelo excesso de ?lixo? produzido pelos cidadãos, seja pela falta de separação e reutilização dos resíduos. Para ter uma cidade mais justa, surgiu o conceito PAYT que incentiva os cidadãos, por via financeira, para promover a separação na origem e aumentar as taxas de recolha seletivaAssim, pretende-se desenvolver uma solução denominada ioGarbage totalmente adaptada ao PAYT e baseada em Inteligência Artificial, que permitirá controlar e monitorizar a produção de resíduos orgânicos e depois utilizará gamificação para promover a recolha seletiva e reduzir o desperdício. É uma solução que permite realizar uma gestão inteligente do lixo de forma independente ou que poderá ser integrada numa solução desenvolvida pela empresa para SmartCities (ioCity), que permite prever a ocupação dos transportes e parques de estacionamento e sugerir o meio de transporte/rota mais adequada.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.

Beneficiaries representing public entities implement their project by signing one or more contracts with suppliers for goods or services through public procurement procedures.
