O CIR tem como objetivo para 2025-2029: 1) contribuir para o avanço do conhecimento nas ciências da reabilitação através de investigação rigorosa e inovadora; 2) alcançar a excelência em pesquisa por meio da realização de estudos de alta qualidade, publicação em periódicos conceituados e apresentação de resultados em conferências nacionais e internacionais; 3) promover a colaboração interdisciplinar entre investigadores da unidade e com parceiros externos para abordar questões de investigação complexas e enfrentar desafios do mundo real; 4) proporcionar oportunidades para a formação e desenvolvimento profissional de investigadores, incluindo estudantes de pós-graduação e bolseiros de pós-doutoramento, para cultivar a próxima geração de líderes na área; 5) gerar resultados de investigação que tenham um impacto positivo na sociedade, incluindo a contribuição para o desenvolvimento de políticas, a melhoria da prática clínica e a melhoria da qualidade de vida.
Beneficiaries
The two types are::
- Direct Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan that has been negotiated and approved by the European Union;
- Final Beneficiaries are those whose funding and projects to implement are approved following a selection process through Calls for Applications.
Call for applications
As part of the Call for Applications, submissions are requested to select the projects and final beneficiaries to whom funding will be awarded. Specific selection criteria are defined for each call, which must be reflected in the applications submitted and assessed.
The project is appraised on the basis of its compliance with the selection criteria laid down in the calls for applications, and a final score may be awarded, where applicable.

Beneficiaries representing public entities implement their project by signing one or more contracts with suppliers for goods or services through public procurement procedures.
